When we think of accessible playgrounds, we often first think of the child. But accessibility means inclusive for all, and that includes parents. Through inclusive playgrounds, children of all abilities are able to play side-by-side. And the inclusivity doesn't stop there—with more accessible features like rubberized surfaces, even parents who use wheelchairs can become more involved in their child's play.

Here's the part where I sound like the geography teacher that I'm not: Budapest, the capital of Hungary. A city separated by the Danube river. A city of two halves, you have the hilly district of Buda on one bank of the Danube, and the flatter district of Pest on the other. We traveled in November. It was the last of our short breaks for 2018, and maybe our favourite so far.

I'd like to share the realities of traveling with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) and how I overcome them. I love traveling and have taken trips pretty much around the world. While traveling with SMA can be difficult, nothing is impossible. After all, where there's a wheel, there's a way!

Every summer, hundreds of people gather at a local park for AccessCNY's annual fundraiser, Anything That Rolls. This event brings together manual and power wheelchair users, roller derby teams, bike riders, strollers, scooters, and anything else that rolls. The three-mile paved course along the lake offers participants the opportunity to travel as far as they please, with water and check-in points along the way.

Japan is a beautiful East Asian country rich in history, culture, and most importantly, accessibility. It is known as one of the most accessible nations in the world, and is becoming even better by the year, most likely due to its rapidly aging population. Three years ago, my family and I took a two-week vacation to Japan, and it was one of the best experiences of my life.
